Looks like smudge under screen

I know this isn't Ubuntu related, but I don't know where to put it.

My screen has a few dark smudges under it. I can see through them, but I can't get them to go away. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Hard to say without seeing it, but my guess would be that the LCD is bruised. Not much you can do other than replace it.

Yeah it looks like LCD bruising. If you can live with it, it will save you the cost of replacement.

Well it's actually a friends. He's letting me try Ubuntu on it before I buy it. I noticed them after the install. Now I am not so sure I want to buy it. I'm kind of picky about my screen.
