Hello lizhao,
it´s the same of post #416.
Take the MFC-210C Driver for your DCP-115C and it works very fine.
On my PC it goes with Hardy 64-bit i have test it on Hardy 32-bit.

Maybe post a bug or ask a question at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu? The developers may be able to help you there.
Hi Guys i`m running ubuntu 8.04
I had the same problem when i tried my dcp-115c but i finally got it to print a test page.
All the steps worked up to this one. [ sudo dpkg -i ~/Desktop/mfc210c//cupswrapperMFC210C-1.0.2-3.i386.deb ] with error message [touch: can`t access `/usr/share/cups/model/brmfc210c_cups.ppd' : No such file or directory
/usr/share/cups/model/brmfc210c_cups.ppd: No such file or directory.]
I found the directory missing and created it myself [ sudo mkdir /usr/share/cups/model ] after that i ran that first command again and finaly the mfc210c driver showed !
I`m new to this but it worked on mine hopefully it will be of some help to you.
Cheers
See my other post at

Brother tech support confirmed today that the drivers on the Brother site are not meant to be used for 8.04 because of non-standard changes in the file structure.
Remove all Brother software and use Synaptic.
I used sudo apt-get install brother-cups-wrapper-extra
then in synaptic ticked Brother boxes.
Then in printer chose brother dcp-110c cups v 1.1
And it works and not much slower than xp.
I would like to thank everyone for their posts,to many to do personaly
and i cannot remember them all, seen that many today.
been using Linux/Ubuntu 30hours and well impressed.
Thanks for the How To.
Every time i upgrade it allways knocks out the printer and I end up back here to reinstall.
Upgraded to the latest,8.10 and sure enough out went the printer.
Just coppied the 7.10 release sudo"s
Much appreciated,
G
Hi. I am having problems installing my printer (dcp-115c).
I tried installing csh and tcsh using the terminal and the Synaptic Package Manager but both end up failing.
The error in Synaptic package manager:

In terminal:
lavi@lavi-desktop:~$ sudo apt-get install tcsh
