[SOLVED] Upgrading from Hardy to Intrepid

OK - so this might seem like a daft question.

How do I upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10?
If I use the Live CD, it starts to install from scratch, and I want to preserve all my files / folders.

I can't seem to find anywhere that gives a step-by-step approach to upgrading. (Although I hope to be proved wrong here).

Am I correct to just re-run the Live CD, and accept the settings, or do I need to overwrite the 8.04 stuff?
This is on a machine dedicated to Ubuntu (NOT dual boot with WinXP). However, I have a dual-boot too, which I'll tackle later.

Would love to hear your advice.

    Thanks

    Code:
    update-manager -d
    Bench Sucker!
    Bash Sucker!
