Any word on when one will be able to orient the dock to other sides of the screen than the bottom?

Sorry if this is asked already (googling brought me here). I saw in a bug thread that 0.4 might have some accommodation for people using "focus follows mouse" in Compiz. I realize there is a global key but I haven't gotten the behavior to work for me(perhaps some applets not obeying that key). I google for an update everyonce in awhile ... I really liked focus follows mouse but gave it up for this panel. Any word on how this accommodation would work (something to do with the ctrl button I think)
I don't think there is any intent to use the ctrl key. I'll ask around to see if any of the other devs has such an intent.
I'm will nag some more applet devs into paying attention to the shared key once we merge. It's a medium priority item.
So, the degree to which we'll be compatible with focus follows mouse is still somewhat up in the air for 0.4. I hope it's fairly good by release day.

I'm a real noob here so I have some important questions. I installed AWN a while back. Didn't use it for several months and started using it again. Currently 0.4.0. When I tried installing applets i ran into TWO issues
1)I added the below to the /etc/apt/sources.list
#FILE: /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/reacocard-awn/ubuntu lucid main
then, in the terminal
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install awn-core-applets-bzr
unfortunately it gave me this message:
Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/reacocard-a...86/Packages.gz 404 Not Found
2)While investigating this problem, i ran into a topic by reacocard on how to install the applets in this link: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=762363
The terminal instruction was:
$sudo apt-get install avant-window-navigator-bzr awn-core-applets-bzr awn-manager-bzr
The weird thing is that software centre says that AWN is installed but synaptic shows that the 3 packages above is NOT installed (white box).
Can someone help me out?
Also, this post says that he only suppots hardy and intrepid. Does that mean i can't get these applets for lucid?
You should add this repo, it will give you the latest version, it's a testing ppa, so there maybe some unstable behaviour.
I've run packages from this ppa on lucid and at present maverick and I haven't had any issues.
Remove any awn related repo's ppa's you have installed before adding this one.
Here's the link to the launchpad ppa page.
