Dude, I just got RDP access to Karmic and it runs a heck of a lot better than Remote Desktop Viewer. All I did was:

cp /etc/xrdp/xrdp.ini /etc/xrdp/xrdp.ini.bak
nano /etc/xrdp/xrdp.ini
[globals]...

From what I've seen, RDP runs a heck of alot faster on both Linux and Win machines than VNC.
