I have heard that the WUSB54GSC v2 is a speed booster of WUSB54GS and that it's not compatible and it comes with its own little router, but i'm using a different one. does that help any?

Again, reinstalled it again but replaced all the strings with WUSB this time.

which line exactly?, I can't find one with the description WUSB54GSCv2, the closest one was WUSB54GSC and other one without the S so I changed that but it's still the same.

OK I restored back it back to it's original settings because Ubuntu wouldn't boot up, I followed your steps again and it didn't work, strange thing is under description, shouldn't it say wifi...

I'been trying to install this adapter for the past few days, none of the tutorials in this forum have worked, although some people have succeeded I'm having a little difficulty following these...

The problem is I've tried adding my resolution and making my own Modes line because there isn't one and nothing seems to have any effect, actually I don't know if it's just me but anything from 1361...

It's not truly 1360x768, my monitor settings detect it as 1280x768@60Hz so it's not the same.

EDIT:I will provide more info on my machine and hope someone hooks me up with a solution.
