I have a problem with my USB Modem device I cant even define properly.
I'm using Xubuntu 12.04.3, with 3.5.0-40-generic kernel. (because of Intel Ivy Bridge proc.)

Thank you, SlugSlug.
Yes, there are many ways to do it and remove indicator. But I need indicator to be visible even when Bluetooth is OFF so users can simply clik on it and activate it.
My...
Will it remove bluetooth indicator from panel?
Do I make it as a script in the startup app?
First off all - THANK YOU JONNYBOY!
I'm using Ubuntu for 6 years, and I never used Cuttlefish before.
I don't know how I missed it, but it's perfect app that will solve many issues in the future....
Yes, I have tried that. It turns off bluetooth. But it also removes bluetooth indicator from panel, so users can't easily turn it on if they need it. :/
I can't find the way to turn off bluetooth by default on startup on Xubuntu 12.04.
While I was using Ubuntu 10.04, it was possible by creating .profile file in my home folder and adding

Hm... Not sure. You managed to install it from Live CD with no problems, so I'm not sure do we have same hardware. :/
I have found many improvements after I have done things described on those...
Spaceman,
I wanted 10.04 specifically, not any other Ubuntu, like 11.04 or 11.10. I tried those also, and they worked 'out of box'. But stability in some apps under 11.04 and 11.10 was a big issue...
Finally! :D
I managed to install Lucid Lynx on my Thinkpad T520. Such joy!
Here is the whole process:
1. Download latest ISO at http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download

I'm very interested in a way you managed to install 10.04 on your T520, since I'v got one as well.
I installed 11.04 on mine, but I'm not satisfied. It's not quite stable and some of 10.04...
I have same laptop as you. I solved many VM issues by going to BIOS and enabling advanced virtualization in Security section.
Hm... Strange. I have exactly same problem on my Thinkpad T520, but I don't have "mute" option under microphone level... :(
Lots of issues with muting unmuting microphone on this laptop under 11.04,...
Try to uncheck:
[ ] cdrom:[Ubuntu 11.10_Oneric Ocelot...
in Software Sources.
Result of command sudo showkey while I'm pressing "Mic Mute" button on ThinkPad T520 is:
keycode 240 press
keycode 240 release
Command amixer set Capture toggle also works well.
But, when I...

This morning I tried to install newest version of VLC player (at this moment 1.1.5).
I went to VLC media player for Ubuntu and followed instructions I found there.
For Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 LTS...
Well... Nothing I tried helps.
It smells as Clean Install Spirit... :)
During intensive googling I found that many people had same issue. But I didn't find any solution for 10.04 Lucid. Most off...

I assume CCSM is CompizConfig Settings Manager?
If it is, than Window Decoration is checked.
I'm 66% sure it's about Compiz. :/
But I just don't know how to repair it.
First of...
Ok. The applet is Indicator-Applet-Session. Good to know. :D
Can be easily installed trough Ubuntu Software Center.
The best learning process is by making mistakes. But painful too. :D
Any more...
