  2. [SOLVED] Re: gufw asks for root access when first starting up?

Thanks for the answers, although I was quite aware that gufw wasn't the actual firewall.

One thing I can't figure out, though is why gufw only need me to enter me password once. Is this stored for...
  3. [SOLVED] gufw asks for root access when first starting up?

I just installed gufw and was in quite a hurry. A root acces prompt came up as I started gufw for the first time, and I quickly responded with appropriate password. All I saw in this hurry was that...
  4. [ubuntu] Re: How do I free the CLI after I start an application from it?

I'm sorry, guys. Had my head up my ***. Accidentally wrote

    Works. Thanks for the help.
  5. [ubuntu] Re: How do I free the CLI after I start an application from it?

Wait... Apparently this doesn't work with anything other than Firefox, and not at all when executed as an alias...

  7. [ubuntu] How do I free the CLI after I start an application from it?

When I run an application from the CLI, the CLI is bound to the respective application until I shut it (the application) down.

  8. [ubuntu] Re: Sound Only From One Speaker, Both Headphone Speakers Work

One solution could be to downmix your music to mono. That would at least determine whether or not the speaker actually recieves any signal. Try this in the terminal:

  9. [ubuntu] MPlayer is acting up; Guake keyboard shortcuts interfere and enables scaletempo

  10. [ubuntu] Can somebody confirm that these mplayer commands are correct?

Here's the thing: I only have one speaker. Monophonic output is required.

[ubuntu] Re: Forcing monophonic audio output

First of all, thank you for the attention.

Apparently, the impedance claims to be a mere 8.

I don't know if this has any significance, but the amp is directly connected via a 3.5mm jack...

    [ubuntu] Forcing monophonic audio output

My audio setup is based on a single guitar amplifier, and from this I suffer from only being able to listen to one of the two stereo channels. Since I honestly don't care for stereo, I'd rather force...

[ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu Studio Playstation 3 support

And that is off course, exactly what I want. Sorry. My bad.

So the only real solution is to install this .iso, and then install the multimedia applications I want manually, later on?

    Or:
